Kim Roberts, Chris Allen, and I have been hard at work on"Toothville" a modern fairy tale about a tooth fairy named Tilda, her cat Slinky, and their adventures trying to save their town from an evil dentist! If you like comics, or have any friends that do, please do consider backing our Kickstarter project and spreading the word. This is one of the first All Ages comics I've worked on and I'm really excited for you to read it and hear your thoughts. Thank you my friends!

Projects at the End of 2016

Although not the best year for politics, this has been a great year for getting comics done.
First off, congrats to Andrew Taylor and Galaxy Girl for yet another successful Kickstarter. Will be fantastico to see my art for "A Shrink Ray- Reversed" all printed up next to the other awesome stories by Andrew and a slew of outstanding cartoonists, included in these two issues. Thanks to all who supported and helped spread the word!
I've been lucky to work with WP Comics on a bunch of fun projects this year. For their Christmas themed horror anthology 'Chronicles of Terror' I worked with my Go-To Colorist Chris Allen, on a strange little ditty starring Scrooge McCluck. It's the Christmas Carol you've always wanted, except with Hell, the Devil, Cthulhu and Charles Dickens rising from the grave. This is what happens when they let us do whatever we want. There's also stories in there from my buddies Hunter Eden, James Johnson, and Mar Carper among many other outstanding tales. You can get the printed book or digital download here!
I also got to do the cover for WP Comics' scifi/fantasy anthology 'Tales from Orbit.' Chris Allen once again lent his magic colors to this angry Santa-bot. Kim Roberts is the editor there and it's been fun working with her and WP Comics owner Mark Fluharty. They've given my Cluck character a lot of opportunities there and I've been really thankful for that. Included in this Christmas issue is a feature interview where I Cluck about Cluck and other Cluckness projects in the future. You can get the print or digital issue here.
Speaking of Cluck, we've got a ton of fun stuff planned for this guy. I'm currently drawing a parody of the upcoming "100 Acres of Hell" movie starring Jeb Clucker. Working from a script by Kim and that coloring guy Chris, we're having a blast. Many hens shall die.
Speaking of Kim and Chris, keep on the lookout for 'Toothville' a fun tale they wrote about toothfairies, evil dentists, and swamp witches. Here's the first page with Chris' poppin' colors:
And FINALLY ? did I forget anything? Work on Shane Lewis' crazy fun 'Irregular Shop' continues. Chris has just finished the colors on Issue #1 and we're ready to start submissions. I'm really happy with how this one is turning out. Only 30 more pages to draw and we've got a complete Book 1! Onwards we fight on!
Thank you to all of my amazing collaborators, and thanks most of all to my patient wife and family and friends. Here's to an even more productive 2017!

Broadsword P.I. #5

Last year Joshua Wolper told me he wanted to write more Broadsword stories. And I was thick into a major classic kung fu film marathon, having just discovered them on Hulu. So I was all for it, as long as I could write an homage to "The Avenging Eagles." So many text chats with him and Hari Ravi later, a new issue started to take shape. To broaden the Broadsword world we enlisted some artist friends like Mutant Comix, Vince Andrews, and MetalSnail. We also have a pinup from Loo Chin Choong on the contents page. It's been a lot of fun seeing this take form through the last few months. Check it out and let us know what you think?

MOTH on Comixology

Moth is a graphic novel adaptation of a play written by Declan Greene with art by me. Up until now it has only been available as a special gift for subscribers of The Cincinnati Review. I'm really proud of this work and hope you'll check it out. You can get it right here.
MOTH is the story of Anime-obsessed Sebastian and art-freak Claryssa as they awkwardly navigate the cruel social hierarchy of high school. A horrific event on the school's athletic field threatens their friendship and sends Sebastian on an apocalyptic mission, whereby fantasy and reality intermingle with dangerous consequences. Written with dark wit that's ultimately after your heart, MOTH is an exploration of friendship, adolescence, loss, and mental illness.

Galaxy Girl

Hey everyone! I'm part of a super cool Kickstarter this month called "Galaxy Girl."
Please click here and consider backing it! You'll get a hilarious and fun comic with art by Catia Fantini, Sid Quade, and ME.

Here's what Andrew Taylor, the creator/writer/cover artist says about the project: Let's be honest. Galaxy Girl is basically my love letter to FLCL and Rick and Morty. Sure, I came up with my own characters and collaborated with artists rather than writing a fan-fiction, but the basis for the character dynamic comes from these two shows that I love. Galaxy Girl is an unpredictable narcissist from outer space who is completely abusing and taking advantage of her young and enamored captive, Norman. Together they go on fantastic adventures in the colorful far-reaches of outer space. In the four short stories featured in Issue 1, Galaxy Girl, Norman, and Steve the Robot refuel on a deserted asteroid, play laser tag on a vibrant jungle world, and are pursued by the evil Cephaloids and the Department of Homeland Security alike. In the end, Galaxy Girl intends to dissect Norman for ALIEN SCIENCE, a fact she is perfectly upfront about, but let us not focus on the destination, dear readers, for the fun is in the journey!

It's over a hundred pages of great horror stories by a host of talented cartoonists. I also have an illustration in Vizyon's "Santa's Favorite Tales." Fun stuff!
